About Me

Efemena M. is a media researcher and writer whose work focuses on cultural identity, belonging, and media framing. Her academic and creative interests center on how narratives are constructed, whose voices are amplified, and how representation shapes both public perception and personal self-understanding.

She is the founder of RootedRoutes and co-founder of EmpowerHer, two community-driven initiatives that create structured spaces for dialogue, reflection, and personal development.

Through her previous project, ThyTruth, she explored themes of voice, authenticity, and perspective in public discourse.

This work laid the conceptual groundwork for what would later become RootedRoutes.

RootedRoutes

RootedRoutes is a storytelling and dialogue platform designed to explore the question:

What does belonging mean in a diverse society?

The project brings together people from different cultural, social, and professional backgrounds. Through guided workshops, writing sessions, moderated dialogue, and optional public presentations, participants develop narrative competence and strengthen their ability to articulate personal experiences with clarity and confidence.

The focus is not activism or ideology.
The focus is structured conversation, perspective-taking, and personal growth.

RootedRoutes operates on three core principles:

1. Narrative clarity – Learning to structure and communicate personal stories effectively.
2. Perspective awareness – Understanding how framing influences interpretation.
3. Constructive dialogue – Engaging across differences without polarization.

Participants may choose to publish their stories, contribute to podcast conversations, or present publicly — always on a voluntary basis.

EmpowerHer

EmpowerHer focuses on personal development, confidence-building, and community support for women. The initiative combines practical knowledge (e.g., rights, digital competence, communication skills) with psychological growth frameworks.
